Duke Choi

Fellow CalArts alumni and Innocnts advocate Duke Choi has a great solo show up at the Prohibition Gallery in Culver City, Los Angeles if your have a chance to check it. All the work was created while he was living in South Korea and Mongolia. Duke also did an amazing mural on the outside gallery wall using his unique mapping technique and a spray can. Really impressive mural even by Los Angeles standards. The gallery is just off Washington blvd. on gallery row and the exhibition will remain up until August 24th so make it on over before it comes down. Well worth a viewing or two!

J Dilla Lost Scrolls

Heard this great piece of journalism on the radio the other day. Beautiful in so many ways. My teenage years are marked by the sounds of Dilla and I continue to carry those memories with fondness. His untimely death robbed us of the chance to grow further with him but the heavens shined down on us briefly when Jeff Bubeck found a vinyl filled storage unit outside of Detroit.

When record store owner Jeff Bubeck buys an old record collection out of an abandoned storage unit, he has no idea what he's stumbled across. Jeff learns the collection once belonged to the late great J Dilla, one of the greatest hip hop producers of all time.

Jeremy Wray At Innocnts Gallery

Growing up Jeremy Wray was god-like to my friends and I. The way he seemed to defy all convention of rational thought by leaping great distances with his skateboard amazed and inspired us. The Innocnts Gallery recently hosted a showing of Jeremy Wray artwork from over the years. Some great stuff including original deck graphics, portraits of friends, and various mixed media works. It filled the space nicely as did the upbeat crew of friends, family, and skateboard fans. Another great night of good vibes at the Innocnts Gallery!
