Cold Cave X Gary Numan

A beautiful, black-clad crowd came out to Portland's Wonder Ballroom last night to partake in an electrifying electronic evening, courtesy of LA-based danceable Darkwave minimalists Cold Cave and Synth-Pop legend Gary Numan.  I staked out stage-side real estate for both acts, and was glad I did; all aforementioned performers have a real, palpable on-stage presence best experienced through near-proximity.

With one last joint show on the roster (Oakland's Metro Operahouse) and upcoming tour dates with other acts (Cold Cave with Nitzer Ebb's Douglas J. McCarthy, Numan with Nine Inch Nails), catch either group in a town near you.

Willis Earl Beal

It don't mean shit if it ain't got passion. Chicago native Willis Earl Beal definitely isn't lacking any of that. His music his heavy felt with feeling and emotion. Soulful nostalgia updated to fit the modern times. Heard Willis on a local LA radio station recently and immediately related. Aside from the music thing, Willis is also a great artist and storyteller. Have a listen to his work below and keep an ear to the scene for more from this talented young man.

SSDD X UNMARKED

Leave it to Erik Brunetti of SSDD/Fuct to seek out and find just the right outfit to collaborate with on a footwear project. And do you think he'd even attempt to try to make some trendy sneaker? Fuck no you wouldn't! He worked with fine footwear purveyors Unmarked to put forth a timeless collection of men's footwear. This debut release includes the Postal shoe, Officer Boot, a Roper Boot and similar Engineer boot in different  length, all with Vibram soles. The devils in the details as they say.

Cadalack Ron At Innocnts Gallery

The GG Allin of hip hop is coming to the Innocnts Gallery for a special evening of art and music. Having survived heroin addiction, failed relationships, and the uncompromising rap scene, Cadalack Ron has a few things to say. Some of it ain't pretty. Sometimes honesty is a bitch. Truthful expression is critical. Authenticity is invaluable.

Innocnts Gallery is proud to host an evening of Cadalack Ron art ranging from small canvas' to Denny's napkins along with a special stripped down performance by Caddy and special guests.

The Garden x Yves St Laurant

Hedi Slimane took a trip down to the famed Burger Records not too long ago and found himself a scene ripe with sweaty skinny youth. Naturally he made some photos and found himself Organge county twins Wyatt and Fletcher from The Garden. Now they're doin a lot more than just music. Yves Saint Laurant can dig it.
