AND THE WINNER IS...
We came across artist Scott Lee some months back and dig the different outputs of expression. A Southern California native from the San Fernando Valley, Scott is currently in his second year at CalArts in the Fine Art program.
Words From Scott:
"My art is about a lot of things and varies in each project, but generally it's about painting, the material, the textures, colors, and composition. I guess I'm trying to speak a similar language as the early abstractionists were doing, just in my own way. It's also about process, this idea of layers and what it took to get to the final state. Within a lot of that though, I'm thinking about life, faith, doubts, hurt, joy, peace, and confusion."

Our good friend and fellow California Institute of the Arts alumni Matty Harris composed an amazing piece of music with 13 other talented jazz musicians titled "DOUBLE SEPTET". It's a wonderful narrative of sounds and feelings. You can buy or listen to the album by clicking the link below but at $20 the vinyl is definitely the recommended mode of listening.

De La Soul just dropped a new album "AND THE ANONYMOUS NOBODY...". It's a little over produced with cameos on almost every track but lyrically is just as crisp and honest as ever. Can't knock the De La Soul hustle. Apparently they raised the funds to create the album through fans and one of those kickstarter pages. Seems a nice way to keep outside hands away from the controls. We definitely back that approach. Check the mini-doc they also dropped detailing the making of the album below along with our favorite tracks.
