Recap // Nothings Too Precious

The opening of Nothings Too Precious went down earlier this month with much success. Inspired by the accessibility and honesty found through skateboarding, "Nothings Too Precious" features a selection of smaller works from noted skateboarders. And in keeping with the exhibition's intent, all work is priced modestly at $100. Much of the work sold and all that attended would likely agree it was an amazing night. The exhibition remains up through the end of the month with regular business hours of operation. There is still some great work that remains and we have a pdf catalog for anyone interested in available work.

Much appreciation to Krusin Skate Shop and Pabst Blue Ribbon for their continued support!!!

Hanging With Billy Valdes

Billy Valdes has Los Angeles pedigree. He knows the city as well anyone and still holds down a stylistic line on the skateboard with ease. Some things never change. Here are some film images captured by Innocnts from various hangs with Billy in and around the Silver Lake area. Stay tuned for an upcoming Innocnts video short with Billy and long time friend Paulo Diaz. Coming soon enough.

How To Make A Tattoo Machine

I was wandering around the museum gift shop yesterday after a visit and found this great zine by Jeff Potocar featuring east Los Angelino skater Fabian Alomar and his homie Trouble. It's a simple zine with a simple goal in mind; make a jailhouse style tattoo machine. The zine is limited to 200 in this first run and is published by Heavy Time Books. Find yourself a copy and start tattooing already.

Arto Saari Photography

Many are familiar with Arto Saari for his exploits in front of the camera as a professional skateboarder. However, as of late Arto has been honing his skills behind the camera with some really tasteful photographic perspectives. As an insider, Arto's acceptance within various skateboard circles imbues his imagery with a sense of familiarity that translates into authenticity and feeling. Both from his subject's standpoint as well his own. Look forward to seeing more great work from Arto as he continues his photographic pursuits.
